Classical project management contrasts with agile or hybrid project management. The methods used are often characterised by the following features:

  • There are clearly delineated phases with predefined results.
  • Requirements for a project are clearly defined before the project begins.
  • There is an intense planning phase in which the individual steps to achieve the project goal are defined.
  • Generally, few changes are expected and these are perceived as disruptions.
  • Strong focus on adherence to the project plan.
